About HydroLancang

Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Inc. (HydroLancang) is an extra large state-owned hydropower enterprise held and administered by CHNG. It is mainly engaged in the development and operation of hydropower resources of Lancang river basin and surrounding regions, as well as construction and operation of renewable energy such as power and wind. The company owns rich experience in the construction of large-scale hydropower projects and operation of hydropower station clusters. 

All through the years, HydroLancang sticks to the Three-color corporate responsibility of China Huaneng Group, promote the corporate philosophy, and adheres to the corporate strategy of building harmonious power stations to provide clean energy so as to build CHNG into world-class enterprise. As a Chinese SOE, HydroLancang faithfully implements the economic, political and social responsibilities. It has never wavered in its determination to keep a balanced and harmonious relationship between hydropower development, local socioeconomic development and environmental protection. Through its practices, the company perfectly demonstrated its CSR determination. 

In 2020, HydroLancang is dedicated to fulfill the strategic tasks of CHNG. While maintaining the achievement of Covid-19 epidemic, the company has also maintained the stability of security and operation, fastened its pace in green development, upgraded operational indexes, the sense of honor and sense of achievements are continuously increased and eventually the company succeeded in all of its preset tasks. By the end of 2020, the power generation reached 97.569 billion KWh, realizing an operation revenue of 19.253 billion RMB. Installed capacity of hydropower reached 22.9488 GW, while another capacity of construction, preparation and preliminary stage exceeds 15 GW. HydroLancang has sustained its road map of a few power stations under operation, a few under construction and a few in reservation. The company has become a key enterprise of Yunnan Province to further develop green energy, and the largest clean electricity operator of Lancang-Mekong sub-region.
