We, the youth representatives experiencing Lancang-Mekong water resources cooperation, bearing the mission of ensuring sustainable water resource management and utilization in the Lancang-Mekong region, jointly issue the following initiatives on  exchanges and mutual learning of water governance:

1. Empower the Youth, Forge a Foundation of Capability

Promote the establishment of regular exchange and joint training programs for young water professionals in the Lancang-Mekong region, focusing on cutting-edge technologies, smart water management, and integrated governance.

Prioritize capacity building for youth in rural and underdeveloped areas, ensuring equal opportunities for learning and practical experiences.

2. Expand Horizons, Open Windows of Wisdom

Build high-level youth exchange platforms such as forums, study tours, and hands-on training to encourage transnational learning and collaborative research.

Support youth participation in regional and international water governance events, fostering global perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills.

3. Integrate Knowledge with Action, Share the Responsibility of Water Governance

Encourage young people to apply their expertise to address practical challenges in river basins, engage in people-centered water projects, innovate in water security technologies, and promote water education in communities.

Actively practice green and sustainable development principles, championing water resource protection and water security initiatives.

4. Connect Hearts and Minds, Celebrate the Culture of Water

Leverage the role of youth as bridges to deepen emotional bonds among the six countries and facilitate the sharing of water governance experiences and best practices.

Take initiative as ambassadors of water culture, telling the compelling story of how the Lancang-Mekong region thrives and sustains itself through water.
