Wang Huning Meets with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet

On August 31, 2025, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met in Beijing with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, who is in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025.
Wang Huning said that China-Cambodia relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes and grown stronger as time goes by. On the previous day, President Xi Jinping met with Mr. Prime Minister Hun Manet, which charted the course for deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Cambodia. Guided by the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, both sides should uphold their original aspiration of friendship, remain firm in their belief in solidarity, and deepen strategic cooperation to make positive contributions to regional peace, stability, prosperity and development. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to deepen exchanges and mutual learning with the Cambodian side and play an active role in advancing the building of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
Hun Manet said that the friendship between Cambodia and China has a long history. He expressed gratitude for China's long-standing support and assistance to Cambodia. President Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia in April this year marked a new milestone in bilateral relations. Cambodia is willing to implement the outcomes of the visit, further deepen the ironclad friendship between the two countries, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
