Wang Huning Meets with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet

On August 31, 2025, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese  People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met in  Beijing with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, who is in China to  attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025.

Wang  Huning said that China-Cambodia relations have withstood the test of  international vicissitudes and grown stronger as time goes by. On the  previous day, President Xi Jinping met with Mr. Prime Minister Hun  Manet, which charted the course for deepening the comprehensive  strategic cooperation between China and Cambodia. Guided by the  strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, both  sides should uphold their original aspiration of friendship, remain firm  in their belief in solidarity, and deepen strategic cooperation to make  positive contributions to regional peace, stability, prosperity and  development. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to deepen exchanges  and mutual learning with the Cambodian side and play an active role in  advancing the building of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with  a shared future in the new era.

Hun Manet said that the friendship  between Cambodia and China has a long history. He expressed gratitude  for China's long-standing support and assistance to Cambodia. President  Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia in April this year marked a new milestone  in bilateral relations. Cambodia is willing to implement the outcomes  of the visit, further deepen the ironclad friendship between the two  countries, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
